If you are a homeowner, farmer or small business owner, you have the opportunity to develop a very small or “micro” renewable electricity generation project (10 kilowatts (kW) or less in size) on your property. Under the OPA grid-tie solar microFIT Program, you will be paid a guaranteed rate for all the electricity your project produces for twenty years.
Think about it, every month you could receive a cheque from the hydro company for the energy your solar panels produced. Each year these cheques could total up to over $7,000 or $145,000 over the life of the contract.
